The National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) has urged member restaurants to adopt local sourcing of ingredients and optimize food portion sizes to mitigate supply chain issues caused by the West Asia conflict. This initiative hopes to promote responsible consumption and reduce import dependency.
As part of its advisory, NRAI has emphasized supporting 'Made in India' products by encouraging the procurement of local vegetables, grains, dairy, and more. Restaurants are advised to opt for energy-saving measures like LED lighting and promoting employee carpooling to reduce environmental impact.
NRAI President Sagar Daryani highlighted the importance of these voluntary actions, stating that they can conserve resources and enhance operational stability during this period of global economic uncertainty and supply chain volatility.
