To address increasing commuter demand, the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) has announced an expansion of train services on the Delhi-Ghaziabad-Meerut corridor. This includes the addition of 10 more Namo Bharat train trips during high-demand periods.

The new services are scheduled between the Sarai Kale Khan and Meerut South stations, complementing the eight trips added recently, thereby introducing a total of 18 new trips. Morning and evening peak hours will see expanded service, intending to cut waiting times and enhance commuter convenience.

The enhanced frequency aims at benefiting daily travelers with improved boarding ease, better seating options, and a more enjoyable journey. With near one lakh passengers reliant on this corridor daily, the move supports increased public transport use, especially with the ongoing heatwave impacting Delhi and parts of Uttar Pradesh.

The initiative is part of a broader effort to promote sustainable transit options, particularly as the region copes with soaring temperatures reaching 45 degrees Celsius. Enhanced schedules align with passenger needs, providing a cooler and reliable alternative amid challenging weather.
