In response to a forecast of heavy rainfall, all government, aided, private, primary and high schools, anganwadi centres, and pre-university colleges in Dakshina Kannada district will remain closed on July 25, officials announced.

This precautionary closure comes after the Karnataka State Natural Disaster Monitoring Centre (KSNDMC) issued warnings of intense rainfall within the next 24 hours. The district administration has declared a holiday as a safety measure.

Authorities are urging the public to exercise caution and limit travel, particularly in areas prone to weather-related incidents. The India Meteorological Department has also predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall, accompanied by winds of 30-40 kmph, in parts of Dakshina Kannada, Udupi, and Uttara Kannada districts on July 25.
