West Bengal Extends College Admission Deadline Amid OBC List Update

The West Bengal government has announced an extension for undergraduate college admissions through its centralised portal, now set for August 5 (midnight).

This decision comes after initial challenges following a Calcutta High Court stay, which has since been lifted by the Supreme Court, allowing admissions under the updated OBC categories.

Students are urged to update their social category details by the final deadline. Failure to do so will result in default under current rules, with no further changes permitted post-deadline.
