Legal action has been taken against ten students from Aligarh Muslim University for allegedly chanting slogans supporting Palestine. The incident took place during protest marches concerning a fee hike and calls for the restoration of the AMU Students' Union, according to reports on Tuesday.
The demonstrations, spanning nearly three weeks, involved daily campus marches that attracted considerable attention, particularly after video clips surfaced on social media.
Hindu Raksha Dal district president Sanjay Arya submitted a complaint citing a video in which Talha Mannan and others reportedly chanted pro-Palestine slogans while holding a Palestinian flag. Authorities have charged Mannan and nine unidentified students at the Civil Lines police station, alleging these actions disturb social peace.
