On Tuesday, teachers from Nagaland's RMSA-2016 batch intensified their protest by marching from the Directorate of School Education to the Civil Secretariat. Holding placards, they demanded scale pay and integration into the state's teaching cadre—rights already granted to teachers from previous batches.
The teachers, led by President Imlitemjen Imchen of the Nagaland RMSA-2016 Teachers' Association, declared they would not resume duties until their demands were met. Imchen emphasized that RMSA guidelines advocate for unified teaching cadres, contesting the creation of a separate 'RMSA cadre.'
Despite favorable court decisions for the teachers regarding salary reductions, the government's delay tactics involve a pending Supreme Court review petition. The Naga Mothers' Association requested the governor's immediate intervention to ensure justice and adherence to court orders.
