The National Testing Agency (NTA) informed the Supreme Court of its intent to shift the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET-UG) to a computer-based testing (CBT) format by 2027. This announcement came amidst the court's review of a petition concerning a paper leak in the May 3 exam, prompting cancellation.

The switch from pen and paper to CBT comes after the High-Level Committee of Experts suggested adapting this model for consistency across major NTA exams, following a directive from the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. The NTA reassures that this transition will maintain examination integrity and uphold the aspirations of bona fide candidates.

Additional reforms include enhanced question-setting procedures and integrating AI tools for translations, demonstrating NTA's commitment to exam security. Following recent issues, NTA is cooperating with a Central Bureau of Investigation probe and implementing multilayer security measures for future examination integrity.
