In a recent controversy surrounding the casting of Pakistani actor Hania Aamir in the film 'Sardaar Ji 3', veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah has come forward in defense of the Punjabi star Diljit Dosanjh. Shah asserts that responsibility for casting lies with the film's director, and not Dosanjh.
Social media erupted with calls for a boycott of Dosanjh, following his sharing of the film's trailer, which released overseas but not in India. Amidst rising tensions between India and Pakistan post the Pahalgam terror attack, trade unions criticized Dosanjh's collaboration with Pakistani actors.
Shah, known for his outspoken nature, expressed solidarity with Dosanjh on social media, dismissing the accusations. He stressed the importance of maintaining personal and cultural ties between India and Pakistan, despite political pressures.
