Chhattisgarh's Korba district is set to transform with the establishment of an aqua park in the Hasdeo Bango reservoir area. Government officials have confirmed that the project aims to enhance fisheries and water tourism, supported by a significant Rs 37.1 crore funding under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana.
The proposed aqua park promises revolutionary changes to the region's fishing industry. It will feature two zones with advanced facilities for feed milling, fish processing, hatcheries, and water sports, designed to boost both local and international trade in fish products.
The initiative is expected to make Chhattisgarh self-reliant in fisheries while opening international markets for local farmers. Currently engaging over 160 fishermen, the project aims to increase seafood exports, thereby integrating the community into the global market and elevating the region as a prime tourist destination.
