In a gesture to preserve family heritage, the Rungta family from Jharkhand has donated a rare 1914 British-made Webley revolver to the Border Security Force's Central School of Weapons and Tactics museum in Indore.
The revolver, once belonging to the late businessman Sitaram Rungta, is valued at several crores in the antique weapons market. However, his son, Nandlal Rungta, opted for donation to immortalize his father's contributions. This decision was facilitated by Ajay Kumar Jain, president of the All India BSF Ex-Servicemen Welfare Association.
Officials confirmed that after legal formalities and the district arms magistrate's permission, the revolver was handed over to the museum in Inspector General Rajan Sud's presence. The museum, housing around 300 rare weapons, plays a crucial role in educating future generations on the history of weaponry.
