Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta received an enthusiastic reception upon his arrival in Jammu, marking his first visit since taking charge of Ladakh. Gupta, who was welcomed by supporters at the airport with slogans and the national flag, has significant plans for the Union Territory's development.
In a conversation with the press, Gupta stated his intention to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah to discuss the vast development potential in Ladakh. Emphasizing the focus on tourism, Gupta highlighted projects underway and cited infrastructure improvements such as the Zoji-la tunnel.
Responding to comments from Congress leader P Chidambaram about regional terrorism, Gupta criticized parties that exonerate Pakistan. He urged politicians to refrain from divisive rhetoric, praising Indian forces' sacrifices and advocating for unity in national issues.
