In a significant move to commemorate the legacy of India's legendary freedom fighter, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann laid the foundation stone for the Shaheed-e-Azam Sardar Bhagat Singh Heritage Complex on Monday. Set to cost Rs 51.70 crore, the complex will serve as an inspirational tribute to Bhagat Singh's courage and sacrifice for the nation.

Addressing the significance of the project, CM Mann emphasized that this initiative not merely aims at creating a structural monument but promises an immersive experience reflecting the life and principles of Bhagat Singh. The complex will include a grand thematic gate and a 350-meter-long Heritage Street, featuring exhibits on Singh's life and the broader Indian freedom struggle.

Among the highlights will be a 30-meter-high national flag and a 700-seat auditorium. The project also includes the restoration of Bhagat Singh's ancestral home, along with a digital recreation of his courtroom trial, ensuring visitors an educational voyage back to colonial India. Expected to complete in nine months, the site will offer modernized facilities, including a Tourist Facilitation Centre, a library, and a musical fountain.
