The couple faced stringent requirements in Poland, including obtaining a marital status certificate that became invalid within three months. However, Denmark's marriage laws presented a favorable alternative, offering procedures that bypass these obstacles.

With an increase in international nuptials, Copenhagen City Hall handles roughly 8,000 weddings annually, about 5,400 involving non-Danish residents. Local officials now plan to reserve more ceremony slots for residents, aiming to manage the surging demand for the city's picturesque marriage services.
