Ladakh Lieutenant Governor Kavinder Gupta visited the Mata Vaishno Devi shrine on Tuesday, seeking blessings for his responsibilities in the union territory. This visit marked Gupta's first since assuming his role.
Gupta expressed his gratitude towards Prime Minister Narendra Modi for his new assignment, pledging to fulfill the expectations of national leadership. He emphasized his commitment to advancing Ladakh's development, particularly in promoting tourism.
In a bid to enhance Ladakh's attractiveness as a tourist destination, Gupta discussed plans for including Ladakh in the Amarnath Yatra itinerary. He plans to meet with PM Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah on August 1 to discuss developmental strategies for the region.
