In a resolute move to curb illegal immigration, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma disclosed that seven alleged Bangladeshi infiltrators were sent back across the border from the Sribhumi district. The state's vigilance against illegal entries remains a top priority, Sarma confirmed via a post on X.
He issued a strong warning against further attempts, stating, "Do not try and infiltrate, you will be CAUGHT and PUSHED BACK." This follows an earlier action where Assam Police deported 20 illegal entrants, asserting that the state is a "home for all Indians, not for illegal foreigners."
Sarma revealed that recent months have seen the expulsion of over 377 infiltrators as the government remains committed to maintaining demographic stability. Measures include bolstered BSF efforts and heightened police alerts along the 1,885 km India-Bangladesh border, to prevent unlawful crossings.
