In a tragic incident over the weekend, two teenagers lost their lives in the overflowing Ganga river at the Bajardiha Prem Ka Pura area. According to police reports, Ganesh Yadav, aged 14, and Preetam, aged 15, went missing on Sunday while reportedly playing in the floodwaters.
Kachhwa Station House Officer Amajeet Singh confirmed that the teenagers were local residents of Bajardiha Prem Ka Pura. Following their disappearance, a search operation was swiftly launched, involving both police officials and local volunteers, leading to the recovery of their bodies with the assistance of divers.
The recovered bodies have been sent for post-mortem examinations to determine further details. This tragic mishap underscores the lurking dangers of interacting with floodwaters, as Varanasi community mourns this devastating loss.
