Rapper and singer-songwriter Machine Gun Kelly recently shed light on his decision to opt out of an audition for Ryan Coogler's film 'Sinners'. The star revealed during his appearance on The Pat McAfee Show that a racial slur in the script was the reason for his refusal, as reported by Deadline.
Kelly explained, 'I was supposed to be in that film as a vampire. However, in the audition script, the character I would play had to say the 'n-word', and I wouldn't do it.' He was referring to a character named Bert, who later becomes a victim of a vampire invasion in the movie, which premiered on April 18, 2025, to great success.
'Sinners' is lauded as a box office sensation, amassing $364 million globally. The plot centers on brothers Smoke and Stack, portrayed by Michael B. Jordan, as they return to Mississippi to open a music hall, only to face a vampire threat. The ensemble cast includes Miles Caton, Hailee Steinfeld, and Delroy Lindo.
