Thousands of citizens gathered in Ranchi to pay their respects to Shibu Soren, the legendary tribal leader and JMM titan, affectionately called Dishom Guru, as his mortal remains were brought to the city on Monday evening.
His body, accompanied by Chief Minister Hemant Soren and Kalpana Soren, was flown in from Delhi, where the 81-year-old had been receiving treatment for kidney-related ailments. Upon the arrival at Birsa Munda Airport, crowds chanted slogans in his honor.
The streets were lined with people eager to glimpse the revered leader, while political figures from various parties congregated at his Morabadi residence. Soren's final journey will conclude in Nemra, Ramgarh district, where his last rites will be conducted.
