In a landmark event, the Kerala government is preparing to host a global gathering of Ayyappa devotees at Sabarimala, scheduled for September. State Devasom Minister V N Vasavan announced on Thursday that this one-day meet would be organized in conjunction with the Travancore Devaswom Board.

Taking place in the third week of September, the event aims to unite Ayyappa devotees from across the globe as part of the 75th-anniversary celebrations of the Board. This initiative seeks to promote the message of universal humanity, known as 'Tatvamasi' and establish Sabarimala as a worldwide revered pilgrimage site.

With an anticipated attendance of 3,000 delegates, the event is poised to serve as the precursor to more extensive gatherings in the future. Facilities, including a German-style pavilion to seat participants, will be in place, and attendees will have the opportunity to visit the Lord Ayyappa shrine.
