The Hindi film 'Homebound' has been announced as India's entry for the 2026 Academy Awards in the Best International Feature category, according to the selection committee's chairperson N Chandra.

Making the announcement in Kolkata, Chandra revealed that 24 films in various Indian languages were considered for the prestigious honor of representing the nation at the Oscars.

Directed by Neeraj Ghaywan and produced by Karan Johar and Adar Poonawalla, the film stars Ishaan Khatter, Vishal Jethwa, and Janhvi Kapoor and explores the struggles of two village friends aspiring for a police job.
