Tragic Vijayadashmi: Devotees Fall Victim to Tractor-Trolley Mishap

A tragic accident unfolded in Khandwa district, Madhya Pradesh, when a tractor-trolley carrying idols of Goddess Durga for immersion capsized into a lake on Vijayadashmi. The incident claimed at least 10 lives, including three minors, and left several others injured.
The vehicle, which was carrying around 30 devotees from various villages to immerse their idols, tipped over in Pandhana area. Rescue efforts by the State Disaster Response Force and local divers are currently underway. An Inspector General of Police stated that a probe into the accident has been initiated.
Chief Minister Mohan Yadav announced compensation for the families of those deceased. Panic engulfed the area post-accident, with bystanders and villagers assisting in the ongoing rescue operations. The incident has raised concerns about the safety measures for such communal events.
