In a tragic incident that has saddened wildlife enthusiasts and zoo officials alike, a 15-year-old jaguar named Kusha died at the SV Zoological Park in Tirupati. Kusha, known for captivating visitors for nearly a decade, met with a fatal accident while attempting to climb a tree in its enclosure.
Kusha, transferred from Nehru Zoological Park in Hyderabad in 2013, became entangled in the enclosure, a mishap that proved fatal despite immediate rescue efforts by zoo staff and the rapid response of the veterinary team on-site. The sad news was officially announced by the Tirupati Zoo on Tuesday.
A postmortem examination conducted by expert pathologists from SV Veterinary University confirmed hypervolemic shock and asphyxia as the causes of the beloved big cat's death, consistent with the accidental entanglement. The zoo mourns the loss of Kusha, celebrated for its majesty and ability to captivate zoo-goers.
