In a dramatic turn of events, a wedding procession in Gayghat village came to an abrupt halt when the bride refused to proceed with the marriage because she disapproved of the saree brought by the groom's family. The discontent led to a brawl between the families, as reported by the local police on Wednesday.
The wedding, planned to be held at the Panchrukhi Devi temple, featured Niki, the bride from Dalan Chhapra village, and Vishal from Mahadanpur village. Tensions flared after Niki labeled the saree 'unsuitable,' leading to her refusal to continue with the wedding rituals, police sources said.
What could have been a celebratory event escalated into a physical confrontation, leaving several injured, including members from the bride's side. Despite the incident, the marriage did not occur, and legal actions have been initiated. Police investigations remain underway to resolve the matter.
