Asghar Farhadi Speaks Out on Iran's Turmoil at Cannes

Asghar Farhadi, the esteemed Iranian director, expressed deep pain over the recent crackdown on protests in Iran and the subsequent war at the Cannes Film Festival.

Speaking after the premiere of his new film 'Parallel Tales,' Farhadi conveyed his distress about the impact on innocent lives and his struggle to remain detached from his homeland's issues, even living abroad since 2023.

Farhadi, who previously won two Oscars for best foreign language film, has a history of political stances, including boycotting the Oscars over a travel ban during Donald Trump's presidency.
