Jodie Comer, celebrated for her standout performance in 'Killing Eve', has been cast in the lead role for HBO's forthcoming limited series, 'The Chain'. The gripping show is an adaptation of Adrian McKinty's international bestseller of the same name and will be presented in an eight-episode format.

The series takes shape under the creative guidance of Damon Lindelof, who will function as the writer, executive producer, and showrunner. This project marks Comer's latest venture following her appearance in '28 Years Later', where she portrayed Isla.

Comer's character in 'The Chain', Rachel, is a suburban mother thrust into a harrowing reality when her daughter is abducted, compelling her to confront unimaginable decisions. The announcement of the series, produced in collaboration with Media Res and HBO, was made in January. Comer's previous TV roles include appearances in 'My Mad Fat Diary' and 'Doctor Foster'.
