Tragedy Beneath the Waves: Italian Divers Found
Four Italian divers have been located by rescuers after being trapped in an underwater cave in the Maldives. The search operation resumed following the death of a local military diver. A fifth diver, a diving instructor, was found earlier outside the cave. They were exploring beyond safety limits.
Italy's Foreign Ministry announced that on Monday, rescuers found the bodies of four Italian divers deep inside an underwater cave in the Maldives.
The search had resumed after a suspension due to the fatal accident involving a local military diver during the mission.
Five Italian divers were thought to have perished after venturing to 50 metres in Vaavu Atoll, exceeding the Maldives' recreational diving limit of 30 metres. A fifth body, an Italian diving instructor, was located outside the cave.
