Actor-comedian Vir Das, known for his critical takes on political issues, responded to accusations of bias in his parodies against the Indian government. The debate arose when a social media user accused Das of only criticizing the BJP, ignoring the shortcomings of other political parties. Das countered, recalling his previous work targeting Congress while emphasizing the comedian's role to challenge power structures irrespective of the ruling party.

Das highlighted the necessity of asking leadership tough questions, especially during economic uncertainty, despite the vitriolic responses such inquiries might provoke.
