Double Tap Films, an Indian microdrama studio under Pratilipi, is strategically teaming up with TikTok to distribute 21 original shows across four international markets. The partnership, based on a one-year licensing deal, aims to showcase Indian narratives globally, with content available in native Hindi subtitled for regional audiences.
Double Tap Films, a pioneering microdrama studio affiliated with Pratilipi, has announced a significant collaboration with TikTok to cast its Indian-stories footprint across the globe, targeting markets in Canada, the United States, Brazil, and Japan.
The partnership is a one-year, non-exclusive licensing deal characterized by a revenue-sharing model, indicating a landmark venture into global content distribution for Double Tap Films. Audiences in these regions will have access to 21 of the studio's original shows, subtitled in local languages with original Hindi audio.
This initiative underscores a larger vision, articulating Indian storytelling's universal appeal and breaking geographical barriers. According to Sharlton Menezes, Vice President of IP & Key Partnerships, this collaboration paves the way for Indian intellectual property to resonate on a global stage.
