Aman Arora, leading the Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab, has criticized BJP leader Ravneet Singh Bittu for alleged misconduct and derogatory remarks against police personnel in Dhuri. This comes after Bittu reportedly had heated exchanges with the police during a restricted election period.
Arora condemned Bittu's behavior, calling it 'shameless' and described his interaction with police officials, particularly against the backdrop of the civic polls, as unacceptable. Bittu, seeking the release of BJP leader Onkar Singh, allegedly misused his position. Arora also accused the BJP of similar tactics in previous elections.
According to Arora, the AAP and Punjab's citizens stand firm with law enforcement and democratic principles, emphasizing that no one should undermine the law. He highlighted past alleged instances of Bittu wielding influence, including obtaining a police post for his brother.
When questioned about potential actions against Bittu, Arora deferred to the chief minister's jurisdiction on the matter. He also voiced concerns about the Election Commission's impartiality despite the Supreme Court's recent affirmation of its authority to revise electoral rolls.
