Actor Ajith Kumar Mourning After Mother's Cremation in Chennai

The funeral of Mohini Mani, the mother of actor Ajith Kumar, took place on Sunday morning in Chennai. Held in an intimate setting, the ceremony was attended by family members and close friends.

Mohini, aged 89, had passed away peacefully at home early Saturday following a prolonged illness. Ajith, returning urgently from Dubai, conducted the rites at the Besant Nagar Electric crematorium, with privacy respected as requested by the family.

The family released a statement expressing their comfort in the love she experienced throughout her life. Despite privacy requests, notable individuals such as Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Joseph Vijay, and actress Trisha Krishnan visited to show their support.

Tributes and condolences also poured in from political and film industry figures, among them M K Stalin and Kamal Haasan. Mohini is survived by three sons, including Ajith Kumar.
