Punjab's Battlefront: Counter-Intelligence Breaks Cross-Border Drug Network

In a decisive blow to criminal networks, Punjab's Counter-Intelligence unit in Ferozepur conducted two rapid operations targeting cross-border narco-smuggling activities. The operations culminated in the apprehension of three smugglers and the seizure of 5.465 kg of heroin, along with two sophisticated Chinese-made 7.62mm pistols, four magazines, and one pistol barrel.

Preliminary findings suggest that the contraband was supplied by Pakistan-based syndicates. Authorities have filed FIRs under the NDPS and Arms Acts, launching extensive probes to trace the networks' roots and connections. Earlier, a joint mission between the Border Security Force (BSF) and Punjab Police led to the arrest of three smugglers in Amritsar's Awanbasu village.

This collaborative operation, based on BSF intelligence, involved an organized ambush that resulted in the seizure of additional arms, ammunition, and narcotics, marking a victory against drug trafficking networks. Meanwhile, recent BSF operations had also intercepted Pakistani drones, demonstrating unyielding vigilance along the border.
