Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan assured the nation on Friday that India's agricultural reserves are at full capacity, providing ample food security. Addressing reporters, Chauhan noted that while soldiers defend the border, farmers diligently work in the fields to ensure the nation's sustenance.

Chauhan announced a new scheme aimed at increasing Kharif crop production, highlighting the collaborative efforts between scientists and farmers. His statements come amid heightened tensions with Pakistan, following India's targeted strikes on terrorist camps in response to the Pahalgam attack.

Expressing strong condemnation of civilian killings in Pahalgam, Chauhan emphasized that India's military actions spared civilian areas, focusing solely on terrorist targets. Meanwhile, in Jammu, the BSF successfully thwarted an infiltration bid along the International Boundary, as tensions continue to escalate in the region with cross-border exchanges of artillery fire.
