Former Shiromani Akali Dal president Sukhbir Singh Badal has strongly condemned the recent provocative shelling by Pakistan on civilian areas in Punjab and other parts of India. He lauded the Indian Armed Forces for their prompt and effective response and called on citizens to remain vigilant and united in the face of these challenges.
In a social media post, Badal expressed his deep concern over the incidents and urged all Indians, particularly Punjabis, to stay calm, adhere to government instructions, and avoid unverified news. Extending his support to the central leadership, he assured the Prime Minister and the Government of India's continued backing from the Punjab community in combating terrorism.
As tensions escalate along the border, the Punjab government has taken precautionary measures by canceling all approved leaves of IAS and PCS officers across the state. An official order mandates that no officer may take leave or leave their post without explicit approval from the Chief Secretary. The directive underlines the need for readiness and adherence to emergency protocols.
