As tensions soar between India and Pakistan following the launch of Operation Sindoor, the Punjab police have issued an advisory urging the public to steer clear of unreliable social media rumors. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Chandigarh, Kanwardeep Kaur, emphasized the importance of consulting official government social media channels for accurate updates.
In a statement to ANI, SSP Kaur assured residents that there is no cause for alarm, with the situation in Chandigarh remaining stable and markets operating normally. She highlighted the readiness of contingency reserve and quick reaction teams to address any potential threats, emphasizing the security measures put in place across the city.
The launch of Operation Sindoor, a strategic move by the Indian Armed Forces, targeted terrorist hubs in response to a vicious attack in Pahalgam, resulting in 26 civilian casualties. The operation, described in a briefing by Wing Commander Vyomika Singh, successfully neutralized nine terror sites while prioritizing the safety of civilian areas.
