The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has issued an urgent directive to cancel all leaves of health ministry officials, citing the need for an increased response to impending emergencies. Only those with medical conditions are exempt, while previously granted leave is now revoked, requiring officials to resume work immediately.

Union Health Minister JP Nadda chaired an emergency meeting with senior officials to assess the nation's readiness for potential health crises. Discussions included reviewing medical resources like ambulances, medicine stocks, and hospital capacity, alongside innovative measures such as the deployment of BHISHM Cubes and mobile trauma care units.

Hospitals nationwide are urged to ensure sufficient stocks of essential medical supplies and foster partnerships with local and regional bodies for enhanced emergency response. In parallel, the Indian Army reported the successful interception of drone attacks by Pakistan on the western border, emphasizing their resolve to protect the country's sovereignty.
