Jammu and Kashmir Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha paid tribute to BSF Constable Deepak Chingakham during a solemn wreath-laying ceremony in Jammu on Monday. Chingakham, who died following cross-border firing from Pakistan in Jammu's RS Pura sector on May 10, is remembered for his bravery and service.

The DG of BSF, along with all ranks, expressed their condolences to Chingakham, acknowledging his supreme sacrifice in the line of duty. The BSF reported that Constable Chingakham succumbed to his injuries on May 11, 2025, after being wounded in border fire along the International Boundary.

The BSF also mourned the loss of Sub Inspector Md Imteyaz, who died due to similar circumstances in the RS Pura area of Jammu. Governor Sinha honored Imteyaz, offering condolences to his family. Leaders, including those from Bihar, paid homage when Imteyaz's remains were brought to Patna. Minister Shravan Kumar highlighted the national pride in these brave officers, asserting national support for their families.
