The Kangra Airport has reopened its doors to civilian flights, marking a significant step in easing travel restrictions following an easing of tensions with Pakistan. Originally closed due to hostilities, the airport is now fully operational, resuming services as of 10:30 AM on May 12.

Kangra Airport Director Dhirendra Singh confirmed the reopening to ANI, highlighting that nearly 800-1000 passengers use the airport daily. This development represents a major relief for travelers, particularly in the tourism and hotel industries, which had been significantly impacted by previous closures.

Earlier, the Airports Authority of India, along with other aviation bodies, had issued NOTAMS to close 32 airports across Northern and Western India during a conflict with Pakistan. The reopening now aims to alleviate air traffic congestion and promote seamless travel for both domestic and international airlines.
