The highlight of the festivities, 'Yoga Sangam,' will feature a synchronised mass yoga demonstration adhering to the Common Yoga Protocol (CYP) at over 1 lakh locations throughout India. This large-scale event, set from 6:30 AM to 7:45 AM, will be led nationally by Prime Minister Narendra Modi at Visakhapatnam, Andhra Pradesh, reaffirming the nation's commitment to yoga.
First recognised globally by a United Nations resolution in 2014, the International Day of Yoga has since grown into a worldwide observance. Championed by India, the proposal for this day received unprecedented support with endorsement from 175 member states. The date, June 21, coincides with the Summer Solstice, symbolising a union between nature and wellness.
