India Sets New Guinness World Record on International Yoga Day

A significant highlight was in Vadnagar, Gujarat, where 2121 participants set a Guinness World Record by holding the Cobra pose for two minutes and nine seconds, surpassing the required minimum of 250 participants.

Led by Deendayal Port Authority Chairman Sushil Kumar Singh, a yoga session was organized on the 11th International Yoga Day at the SVP Auditorium in Gopalpuri, Kutch. Officials, staff, and students of the DPA enthusiastically participated, underscoring the event's theme of embracing yoga for a healthier lifestyle.
Across the nation, Indian citizens marked the day with various events, encouraging regular yoga practice. Gujarat's Vadnagar witnessed a memorable achievement as 2121 people held the Cobra pose, claiming a Guinness World Record. The participants surpassed the one-minute requirement, holding the pose for an impressive two minutes and nine seconds.
Richard Stunning, a Guinness World Records adjudicator, remarked on the accomplishment, noting the initial benchmark of 250 participants holding the Cobra pose for a minute. With 2184 participants initially counted—64 later discounted—the successful record set stands at 2121 participants. This feat represents a significant surpassing of the set goals, marking a noteworthy milestone for the country.
