On Saturday, Tamil actress and BJP leader Namitha celebrated the 11th International Day of Yoga by pledging to incorporate yoga into her routine and encouraging others to do the same. Namitha, highlighting the ancient roots of the practice, emphasized that yoga should be embraced regularly as she spoke to ANI.
Participating in a special session at Athi Nursing College in Gudiyatham, Vellore, alongside BJP leader Tamilisai Soundararajan, Namitha was part of a broader celebration. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking from Visakhapatnam, urged international adoption of yoga to promote "inner peace" as a global initiative, involving societies worldwide.
Addressing a diverse audience during the celebrations near the Visakhapatnam coast, PM Modi underscored the need for countries to embrace yoga beyond personal or cultural realms, but as a unifying force for humanity. Flanked by Indian Navy ships, the event drew yoga enthusiasts and esteemed guests from Andhra Pradesh, creating a picturesque backdrop for Modi's call to action.
The event also highlighted PM Modi's rallying cry for transforming yoga into a global mass movement to foster societal peace, health, and harmony. He urged for a collective effort where each day commences with yoga, aiming to weave a stress-free, interconnected world emphasizing "Yoga For One Earth, One Health" as a shared global commitment.
