Mizoram's Chief Minister Lalduhoma convened a meeting of the Mizoram State Policy Coordination Committee to evaluate the Handholding Scheme's progress. As of now, 11,438 applications have been submitted for the scheme's loan component. Out of these, 588 were approved, with Detailed Project Reports underway for 1,687 applicants, and 914 applications rejected.

Moreover, the slow loan disbursement has been attributed to technical problems with the PMEGP portal. Despite challenges, banks have begun to demonstrate a stronger commitment to disburse loans. Meanwhile, under the Chief Minister's Special Package, 2,226 applicants have been shortlisted to date with mandatory training on the horizon.

In a separate event at Mizoram University, the 233rd Mid Term Council Meeting of the Indian Road Congress was inaugurated by the Chief Minister. With discussions on the state's infrastructure, he underscored the critical need for improved road networks, given Mizoram's unique geographical challenges. National Highways constructed with rigid pavement technology were proposed for long-term sustainability.
