On a busy Sunday, two major flights faced unexpected diversions. An IndiGo flight, 6E-6473, scheduled to fly from Pune to Hyderabad, was rerouted to Vijayawada as it encountered heavy traffic in Hyderabad's airspace. The flight, which had taken off from Pune at 8:43 AM, eventually reached Hyderabad by 12:38 PM, sources reported.
Meanwhile, Air India's flight AI357, en route from Tokyo's Haneda Airport to Delhi, was forced to make an unscheduled stop in Kolkata. The decision for the diversion stemmed from a safety precaution after elevated cabin temperatures were reported. The airline assured that the aircraft landed safely and is currently being examined, as per the airline's official statement.
Air India further emphasized their commitment to passenger welfare, stating that ground staff in Kolkata are assisting passengers to alleviate inconvenience. Additionally, the airline confirmed that alternative arrangements are in place to transport passengers to Delhi promptly. Both diversions underscore the airlines' prioritization of passenger safety amid unforeseen challenges.
