The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Himachal Pradesh following intense rainfall causing severe flooding in the Beas River. This development has alarmed officials as the region braces for more rainfall.
Forecasts indicate light to moderate rain across districts such as Bilaspur, Solan, Shimla, and more, with isolated intense downpours. A slight respite is expected by June 28, but rains will intensify from June 29 to June 30, necessitating caution.
As an orange alert stretches over several districts, officials are on high alert for potential flash floods and landslides. The IMD continues to update forecasts, urging residents and tourists to avoid rivers and steep areas due to the risk of landslides.
