In response to heavy rains triggering flash floods and infrastructure disruptions across Himachal Pradesh, state Minister Jagat Singh Negi convened an emergency review meeting on Monday with senior officials. The aim was to assess the situation concerning landslides, blocked roads, and disrupted power and water supplies.

Minister Negi told ANI that a previous state-level meeting had already set monsoon preparedness plans into motion. However, recent developments prompted a specialized review involving key departments like Jal Shakti, HPSEB, SDRF, and PWD to strategize immediate restoration efforts. Kangra and Mandi districts remain on red alert.

Negi confirmed that 968 electricity transformers have been impacted, but national highways remain operational. Restoration efforts are also addressing the disruption of 23 drinking water schemes. Schools in red-alert districts are closed temporarily for safety. Flash floods were reported in Shimla's Sarpara area, damaging structures but causing no human casualties.
