Himachal Pradesh is grappling with heavy rainfall that has triggered landslides and flooding in various areas. The local Meteorological department has issued an orange warning for impending showers expected on June 22, 23, 25, and 26, signaling the likelihood of further disruption.
The incessant rain has already disrupted traffic on the Dharmshala-Chataro-Gaggal road due to landslides. Authorities are currently working on clearing paths to restore normalcy. Additionally, the Shahid Inder Singh Middle School in Pandoh is dealing with water logging, creating difficulties for students and staff.
With Nahan receiving the heaviest rainfall at 84.7 mm and various locations witnessing thunderstorms and gusty winds, the region remains on high alert. The MeT office warns that heavy rains in hilly areas may lead to more landslides and water logging, posing potential hazards such as road skidding and structural damage.
