In a tragic incident at the Awsaneshwar Mahadev temple in Barabanki, Uttar Pradesh, two people lost their lives and more than 30 others sustained injuries following an electrocution that led to a stampede-like situation. The calamity occurred when an electric wire fell onto a tin shed, causing devotees to come into contact with the live wire during a religious gathering.
State Cabinet Minister Sanjay Kumar Nishad expressed profound condolences, affirming the government's support for the victims' families. He praised the Chief Minister's efforts in providing assistance and pledged that measures would be taken to prevent future occurrences. Minister Nishad emphasized the government's commitment to stand by the bereaved families in their sorrow.
Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak, voicing his distress over the unfortunate event, announced a high-level investigation into the incident. The District Magistrate has been instructed to deliver a thorough report within 24 hours. Pathak assured that the government is examining the causes behind this calamity and taking steps to ensure the safety of devotees at temples and shrines moving forward.
