On the occasion of the Teej festival, Haryana Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini unveiled a series of initiatives aimed at empowering women across the state. Among the announcements was the launch of the 'Lado Sakhi Yojana', designed to provide personalized support to pregnant women through community health workers.
Saini's speech in Ambala City celebrated the success of the 'Beti Bachao Beti Padhao' campaign, noting improvements in the state's sex ratio from 871 in 2014 to 906 currently. New measures were revealed to support women entrepreneurs, including incentives for female-led start-ups and distribution of 'Do-It-Yourself' kits to foster entrepreneurial skills among young girls.
Further initiatives include establishing Mahila Sanskriti Kendras, a digital program for anganwadis, and economic measures to boost female participation in business and governance. These include a state chapter of the Women Entrepreneurship Platform and financial incentives for women artisans, reflecting Saini's commitment to enhancing cultural ties and sustainable development.
