In a recent meeting aimed at elevating the operational standards of Andhra Pradesh Power Generation Corporation (APGENCO), Chief Secretary K Vijayanand outlined a strategy for improving efficiency and financial discipline to meet the growing energy demands of the state.
Reviewing performance across thermal, hydel, and solar sectors with senior officials from APGENCO, APPDCL, and APTRANSCO, Vijayanand noted a remarkable 10 percent growth in thermal and a 95 percent surge in hydel energy production. The meeting underscored the importance of preventive maintenance and the need to accelerate major power projects.
Addressing coal stock sufficiency and financial matters such as coal dues and vendor payments, the chief secretary called for enhanced cross-departmental coordination and weekly monitoring to ensure self-reliance and resilience in Andhra Pradesh's power sector.
