A tragic accident in Jharkhand's Deoghar district resulted in the deaths of at least five Kanwariyas, leaving 23 others injured. The incident occurred early Tuesday morning when a bus full of Kanwariyas collided with a truck carrying gas cylinders near the Jamuniya forest.
Amid conflicting reports about the death toll, with some claiming 18 fatalities, local officials have confirmed five deaths. The injured were rushed to nearby hospitals, and a rescue operation continues as several are in critical condition.
Authorities, including Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, expressed condolences and assured ongoing medical assistance. The Kanwariyas were on their pilgrimage to Basukinath temple when the accident happened, underscoring the risks faced during such spiritual journeys.
