Union Minister JP Nadda criticized earlier administrations for lacking the political will to tackle terrorism, accusing officials of hesitating to act against Pakistan. During a Rajya Sabha session on Operation Sindoor, Nadda highlighted that senior government figures, including the Foreign Secretary and National Security Advisor, opted against retaliatory measures.
Nadda lauded the significant decline in terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir following the abrogation of Article 370. He noted the elimination of stone-pelting incidents and claimed the average lifespan of a terrorist in the Valley is approximately seven days. "Today only foreign terrorists remain," he declared, asserting a zero-tolerance policy towards terrorism.
Additionally, Nadda challenged assertions that India lacked global support, citing widespread international condemnation of the Pahalgam attack. He referenced support messages from over 60 heads of state and international bodies such as the UN, QUAD, and BRICS, emphasizing a shift from past defensive postures concerning border development.
